Summer is over and fall is finally in the air! All the leaves, pumpkins, and dress up moments you'll ever need are ready and waiting to make your October exceptional. Though this year is different than usual, with many seasonal activities modified for safety reasons and health concerns, there are still several ways to celebrate fall in and around Carlsbad. Whether you’re looking for a weekend staycation or a getaway with seasonally inspired adventure, here are a few fun fall activities near our hotel.
 

Yappy Hour Halloween at The Windmill

When: October 24th
Where: Windmill Food Hall

At the Windmill Food Hall, your furry friends are always welcome. On October 24th the relaxed patio vibes will be the backdrop for a four-legged costume contest, the WFH has deemed Yappy Hour Halloween. From 1pm to 3pm, enjoy drink specials, live entertainment, complimentary doggie treats, costume prizes, and a raffle benefiting Wagging Dog Rescue of Carlsbad. For more information on weekly happenings, follow their instagram
 

Halloween in Legoland's Miniland

When: October 2nd – October 31st
Where: LEGOLAND (One Legoland Dr, Carlsbad, CA 92008)

For every weekend in October, LEGOLAND will be having a Halloween-themed outdoor retail and dining experience filled with endless fun and entertainment! Enjoy festive decorations, distanced character meet-n-greets, and individual family activities that will be sure to get you into the Halloween spirit. Guests can come dressed in their best costumes (though all costumes still require a face coverings) and navigate a Halloween-themed Scavenger Hunt in Miniland U.S.A. Enjoy seasonal fall treats like Granny’s Apple Fries or Smokehouse BBQ’s ribs. Kids will leave with a goody bag of candy at the end of their visit! Halloween in Miniland will take place October 2nd – October 31st with select reservation times. Carlsbad Pumpkin Patch & Corn Maze

When: Daily through November 8th, from  8am-5pm
Where: Carlsbad Strawberry Company (1050 Cannon Rd, Carlsbad, CA 92008)

The Carlsbad Strawberry Company’s annual pumpkin patch is a popular fall destination and for good reason! Complete with a 1.5 mile long corn maze, apple cannon, and tractor rides, all in addition to a great pumpkin selection, visitors have endless opportunities for seasonal fun! On the weekends, the farm also offers food and games. The Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze are located at 1050 Cannon Road, opposite Car Country and just east of the 5 freeway, and offers plenty of free parking. Halloween in the Village

When: Saturday, October 24, 2020, 3-6pm
Where: Carlsbad Village (505 Oak Avenue, Carlsbad 92008)

The Carlsbad Village Association will be hosting an afternoon of free, family fun for all ages at Halloween in the Village! There will be a variety of entertaining activities, including exciting games by the Boys and Girls Club of Carlsbad Village, arts and crafts, a Doggie Costume Contest, safe Trick-or-Treating at select businesses, and more! This event will take place on Saturday, October 24, from 3-6pm, at 505 Oak Avenue 92008. For more information, visit the web page.
 

HalGloween

When: October 9–11, 16–18, and 23–25 
Where: San Diego Zoo (2920 Zoo Dr, San Diego, CA 92101)

Visit the San Diego Zoo for their special HalGloween event filled with glowing fun, giggles, and grins! Activities include a Bubble Dance Party and Python Path, where guests can wander through fog and spooky sounds to discover surprising sights, like slithering snakes (behind glass). There will also be a variety of entertainment, from their Maestro of Fun, acrobat shows, live music and more! Halgloween will run for three weekends in October. Activities and entertainment have all been designed to allow for social distancing, so you can have fun safely. Kids 11 and younger can come in costumes that align with their guidelines.
